No Last Minute "Under-Gown” Issues
Wedding Undergarment Suggestions
You’ve spent tons of time shopping for that
perfect gown, right? However, for the gown
to look “just right” you should also spend
some time looking for the right undergarment
too.
One of the most important articles of
clothing for a bride, which is sometimes
overlooked, is what is worn underneath the
gown. I have seen many brides in a panic,
just before the wedding, because they
thought that what they wore underneath their
gown would be an easy step...and it isn't
always that simple. Consider the following
when choosing your bridal undergarments.
Problems such as a low back gown, strapless,
or even the material used for the gown such
as silk, could pose an underwear nightmare.
You don't want bra clips, straps or even a
lace bra under a chiffon gown giving you
unnecessary lines and seams. Give yourself
plenty of time to find the right solution.
Have a fitting and don't always go with what
the fitter has in stock, (it's sometimes
overpriced), but do find out your exact
size. If you do find a perfect fit and have
time to shop, you can save money by knowing
the exact brand of bra or corset and shop
online. If you're going to use the internet
and have not tried sizes before, make sure
you read the return policy from that site so
that you're not stuck with an item that
doesn't work. (I've had Brides buy two
different sizes from us and just return the
one that doesn't work.) Always return the
garment before your ceremony so that you
don't need to think about it again.
For you “shapely” brides that are a bit top
heavy, give yourself ample time to find the
right fit. Large or out of the ordinary
sizes such as a 40C or 32DD can be a problem
to locate quickly. You’ll want to have
enough time to try on the garment and be
sure it suits the dress and is going to be
comfortable.
The best advice is to start early, and give
yourself plenty of time...and don't forget
your Honeymoon Lingerie!

Teeze Magazine Fall 2004
This is concerning your article called ?Store Owner Pet
Peeves.? First, I think that it should be called ?Store Owner
Complaints About Manufacturers? because ?store owner pet peeves?
sounds more like the problems I have in running the boutique, not
with dealing with manufacturers.
As far as service is concerned, there are little problems here and
there. Some companies (that will remain nameless) have a three-day
processing policy. But if I really need an item fast and I want it
shipped ?next day? express, that means it ships out in three days!
Great policy?and of course there is an extra charge for this. Why do
manufacturers even use the statement ?always in stock? when they
know it?s not?
I experienced a problem just the other day when a shipment came in
from an order I placed three months ago ... and they shipped it
three-day express!
So when I called they said they were sorry and I received a credit.
But I told them that I had just ordered the same items a few days
ago and had already received them. They said that I ?should have
known that there was a back-order.? Oh yes ... and I?m supposed to
predict when you?re going to ship it to me.
So I asked her, ?How am I supposed to know it was on back-order when
it isn?t written on the original invoice that ?these items are on
back-order?? She said, ?You would have to deduct the items you did
receive, and what?s left goes on back-order.? Sounds to me like they
should simply state what is on back-order for that invoice on that
invoice ... so I can cancel it! Because after that there is no
control.
With another company I bought over $1,000 at the Orlando show this
past year. Most of those items I didn?t get until May, which is ?out
of season? for me in Florida. They were nice enough to allow me to
postpone my payments for the delayed merchandise.
The one thing that really irks me is when a company sends me a
beautiful catalog full of gorgeous lingerie (at least I think it is)
but it?s all drawings!
That?s great; why don?t I just hire some models and a photographer
just so I can sell your line on the Internet! It amazes me how some
companies that could be very successful simply do not want
photographs. In this day and age of high tech and the Internet, good
photos are the only way to be successful. Then there are companies
that have the good photos but they ?can?t be used on the Internet.?
That is an even a more ignorant policy! That?s what model releases
are for! You pay the models so you can use the photos at will. How
about the policy of ?you can use the pictures but not their faces??
All the information I wrote is true and actually did occur. The
names of the manufacturers have been removed for the sake of them
not being humiliated.
I can go on and on...I have 18 years lingerie experience, and I'm
very observant.
